Juanita McNeely
I co-curated Juanita McNeely’s first solo exhibition in London at Lévy Gorvy Dayan, working with Victoria Gelfand-Magalhaes and Tilde Fredholm. Spanning five decades of paintings and works on paper, the exhibition explored McNeely’s uncompromising approach to the body: sexuality, disability, pleasure and pain.
Presented across two floors of the former Empress Club, the exhibition brought her feminist practice into dialogue with a building with its own history of women’s autonomy and association.
The exhibition was presented in cooperation with James Fuentes Gallery, New York.
